Head coach Kris Knoblauch has shocked the hockey world by suspending five Edmonton Oilers players indefinitely after they were accused of showing disrespect toward U.S. military veterans following the Oilers’ 4–7 loss to the Washington Capitals.
According to team officials, several veterans were present near the tunnel as part of a postgame recognition event when the group of players behaved in a manner described as “unacceptable and embarrassing.”
