The NFL faces yet another jolt as Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow announces his retirement from football just days following Jason Kelce’s decision to retire.
Cincinnati Bengals’ star quarterback, Joe Burrow, has given fans a much-needed update on the injury that ended his 2023 season. He’s hoping to be back in action by May after a wrist injury ended his hopes of a push for Super Bowl LVIII.
Chatting with reporters on Monday, he revealed that he could be back on the field of play six months after his injury. He also plans to take part in full-contact sessions when he returns.
“I think the middle of May is when I am expecting to kind of be cleared for full contact and everything,” Burrow said to ESPN. “Over the next month [to] month and a half, we’ll kind of decide all those things.”
Burrow also shared that he’s now able to lift weights as normal during his recovery and that he’ll stick to his usual training routine over the next two months, which means not throwing until OTAs – something he has done his entire career.
