Kansas City Chiefs: New Police Details Emerge After Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce Were Both Victims of Home Burglaries.
The Kansas City Chiefs are trying to become the first team in NFL history to win the Super Bowl in three consecutive seasons. They are off to a good start as they are the only undefeated team remaining in the NFL this season with a record of 9-0.
One of their forgotten wins was a Monday Night Football victory over the New Orleans Saints back on October 7. Fans may recall that it was this game in which Saints quarterback Derek Carr suffered an oblique injury, an ailment that landed him on injured reserve for a few weeks.
The win, forgotten mainly because New Orleans is simply not very good this year, saw Patrick Mahomes complete 28 of 39 passes for 331 yards, no touchdowns, and an interception. Wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster led Kansas City pass catchers with seven receptions for 130 yards while tight end Travis Kelce had nine receptions for 70 yards.
But what may be the most impressive part of the win, especially the performances of Kelce and Mahomes, was that their two biggest stars had just been robbed.
“Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce’s Kansas City-area houses were burglarized last month TMZ Sports has learned.
“According to Cass County Sheriff’s Office documents we obtained, the burglary at Mahomes’ extravagant Belton, Missouri estate was reported to cops at around midnight on Oct. 6.
“Sources familiar with the situation tell us Kelce’s Leawood, Kansas mansion was broken into just hours later … on Oct. 7 — the same day the Chiefs took on the Saints in a “Monday Night Football” matchup at Arrowhead Stadium.”
